"Three years ago I had to get away from a mega carrier who one, didn't really trust their drivers. Two, had way too many rules. And three, thought that getting home every weekend for 34 hours was quality home time. When I started looking I began with the Best Fleets to Drive For list. Chief Carriers was on that list. So I contacted Mandee and we had a good conversation right off the bat. I realized quickly I was talking to somebody who wasn't reading from a script. She asked me way more questions about my expectations rather than pushing their agenda. This introduction to Chief, together with the fact they are a smaller carrier, and there is a facility close to me for which we are the main carrier, made the decision a no-brainer. Lastly, carriers like to throw out the "You're not just a number" thing like there's no tomorrow. I've been here 3 years and I couldn't tell you my driver/employee I.D. without looking it up. I guess the latter would be more of a reason for why I'm still here."
