The Trucking Industry: Vital for America

The trucking industry is a vital part of the American economy, comprising hundreds of thousands of companies and over 3 million professional drivers. It supports nearly 7 million jobs across various sectors, including health care, fuel and transportation, waste removal, retail, food and agriculture, manufacturing, banking, and finance.

Truck drivers and companies adhere to strict safety regulations, including a zero-tolerance standard for drug and alcohol use. These drivers are highly skilled professionals who share the road with others, and their vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies that enhance safety and fuel efficiency.

Recently, Chief Carriers completed the construction of a 6,000-square-foot, two-bay securement building in Grand Island, Nebraska. This facility serves as a training center for student drivers and those in orientation. It represents a significant investment in improving the quality of life and safety for our drivers by providing an indoor space for training and tie-down procedures, shielding them from the elements.
